Steel is deemed to be a difficult material to produce horns. In actual fact we have been building steel horns for over ten years very successfully, particularly for cutting and / or welding of foils or textiles.
The contact between the metals of horn and anvil increases the mechanical abrasion at the working area of the horn.
The processing of foils or textiles is very difficult and requires highest precision. The amplitude of the horn must be exactly the same as the longitude and be equally distributed – lateral amplitudes must be avoided.
A badly designed horn heats up quickly, this tends to result in a high mechanical wear and a short life cycle.
In comparison to a titanium horn, a steel horn is cheaper and has the option of its workface being ground down in case of abrasion.
Due to the quality of our steel horns we are the general supplier for several welding machine manufacturers, who specialized in the treatment of precision of foils and textiles.
