Horn inspection systems

Horn inspection systems

The quality of a horn is very important for the production process. Not longitudinally swinging horns usually have a shorter lifetime, they can heat up unduly, they can even damage other components of the swinging unit and thus lead to downtime in your production process.

Usually, on first sight you cannot detect, if a horn was constructed or manufactured defectively. How rate the quality of the horn under such circumstances?

For this reason we have developed inspection systems that allow you to measure the quality of horns yourself:

- the ultrasonic measuring head USM 3.1
- the ultrasonic rapid tester UST 6.2
- the amplitude and frequency measuring system AFM 9.3

Everything you need to know about the usage of the measuring head USM 3.1 in correspondence with the AFM 9.3 is shown in this video .

Amplitude- and frequencies measuring system AFM 9.3

The AFM 9.3 supports to determine the quality of your horns with in few seconds.

The two most important key figures – frequency of the horn and the amplitude relation – are available on a push of a button.

With the frequency of the horn you are able to determine immediately, if your horn pulsates in the correct frequency band and also if your horn is still applicable for your applications.

The amplitude relation describes the relationship between the lengthwise and transverse pulsation – in other words the effectiveness of your horn.

The AFM 9.3 - indispensable for the reliable evaluation of horns!

Ultrasonic Quick Tester UST 6.2
Ultrasonic Quick Tester UST 6.2

Your ultrasonic welding system doesn’t work correctly and you don’t know the reason why? You don’t know possibly just the horn is damaged?

For this there is no need to send for a service engineer – such an effort would be too expensive.

With our Ultrasonic quick tester UST 6.2 the easy detecting of defaults in mechanical vibrancy tools like horns is no problem any more.

Bring the UST 6.2 to the welding unit of your ultrasonic machine and you can see immediately, if the horn vibrates in the correct frequency or if it possibly damaged…
